This introductory course covers the taxonomy, morphology, ecology, physiology, and behavior of selected game and nongame species of North America with an emphasis on Maine species. Lectures introduce basic principles of wildlife management including population growth and regulation, carrying capacity, habitat needs, ecological niches, animal behavior, and other fundamental ecological principles.
