This course provides an introduction to the components and processes of the criminal justice system in the United States. Topics include history, structure, function, and philosophy of our system of justice and how it integrates into everyday life in our society. Students will discuss our justice system's historic English roots, the evolution of American law, and a variety of law enforcement agencies, including their distinctive operational characteristics.
