Genetics is the science that examines the nature of the "blueprint" of genes as well as the mechanism from which the "blueprint" is transmitted from generation to generation. Emphasis is placed upon higher organisms. Mendelian genetics is reviewed along with such modifications as linkage, sex linkage, and inheritance of sex and linkage.
