The purpose of this course is to engage students in the breadth, depth, and scope of outdoor recreation and adventure education. Potential topics include the history and philosophy of adventure education/outdoor recreation; components of leadership; skills, competencies, and qualifications of the outdoor recreation professional; the basics trip planning; professional organizations.
