Description:
Prerequisites: 8 credits in Biology, permission of instructor, approval by the Biology Department Curriculum Committee and minimum GPA of 2.5 in Biology courses. Independent research or other scholarly study in biology carried out under the supervision of a faculty member. Because the student has the primary responsibility for designing the content of this course, she or he must prepare a formal research proposal to be approved by the Biology Department Curriculum Committee prior to registration. A total maximum of six credit hours of Biology 491/492 may be applied to the Biology major; any additional credit hours will apply as University electives.
