Discusses theories and factors relevant to use, abuse of and dependency on alcohol and drugs. The social, economic and psychological effects of alcohol and drug use will be explored. Treatment, prevention, current research, biomedical, neuro-pharmacological, epidemiologic, psychological and cost issues will be explored as well. Prerequisite: SOC 201.
