This course is a study of the role of money in the U.S. financial system, in particular the operations, functions, structure and regulations of the system and functions of central banking. Special emphasis is given to the study of monetary theories, monetary management and the effectiveness of monetary policy. Required prerequisites: HG 131 Macroeconomics and HG 132 Microeconomics.
