3 s.h. This course examines work and family decisions, particularly those of women, in terms of economics theory. Emphasis is placed on the allocation of time and money and on opportunity costs. Differences in economic attainment by sex and race are analyzed in terms of gender socialization, differences in education, occupational segregation, opportunity, and discrimination. ( LA) Cross-listed as WMST 352. Prerequisites: 3 s.h. of economics and CONS 150 or 3 s.h. of social science.
