3 s.h. This course examines the complex of violence in the family setting. The examination includes spousal violence/partner violence, marital rape, dating violence/rape, child sexual/ physical/emotional maltreatment, and elder abuse. The course will look at the trends family violence, a look at the theoretical explanations, and a look at prevention/treatment family violence. Prerequisite: 3 s.h. of SOCL 100.
