3 s.h. This course will explore some of the varieties of religious experience found in world cultural traditions. Through a religious studies approach, different forms of religious experiences will be addressed including conversion, possession states, mysticism, visions, hallucinogenic experiences, and religious healing. Students should leave the class with a greater appreciation of the sacred as a source of personal transformation, meaning and value. ( LA)
