3 s.h. Continued study in traditional Japanese Karate upon successful completion of PHED 153 Beginning Karate. Designed to increase the students' proficiency in the performance of the blocks, strikes, kicks, and stances of Hayashi-Ha Shito-Ryu style of Karate. Further development in the learning of and execution of the formal Katas. Additional study into the history and philosophy of Karate. Prerequisite: PHED 153.
