3 s.h. A course for students interested in actuarial science and actuarial careers. This course is offered to help students acquire a thorough knowledge of all of the topics in the syllabus for Exam/Course 1 of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) and the Society of Actuaries (SOA). Topics include mathematical tools for quantitatively assessing risk and popular probability models in actuarial science. Prerequisites: MATH 276C & STAT 361 both with a "C" or better.
