3 s.h. This course addresses the changing nature of American culture and how these changes have created a crisis for our children or put them at risk. Issues such as poverty , hunger, violence, abuse and neglect, foster care, teen pregnancy, health needs, and educational inequities are examined. ( LA) Prerequisite: CHLD 170 or HECO 170 or PSYC 240 or EPSY 240.
