Emphasizes recent and past problems faced by native peoples resulting from contact with whites. Topics include: treatment of native Americans by colonial administrators and government officials, the treaty and reservation system, and the growth of Pan-Indian Movements. ( LA) Prerequisite: SoS or 3 s.h. 100-level HIST course.
