3 s.h. This course will examine the development of Greek civilization from Mycenaean colonization through the death of Alexander the great. Major themes will include the development of social and political institutions, platonic and Socratic philosophy, attitudes toward sexuality, education, women and slavery. This class is heavily reliant upon primary source reading and is equally lecture and discussion based. ( LA, CPA, HW2) Prerequisite: SoS.
