3 s.h. A regional study of Meso, and South America, based on the physical and cultural geographic factors. The Europeanization of the Western Hemisphere is studied with special emphasis to the influence of the Iberian (Spain and Portugal) patterns of settlement and land use. Contemporary demographic and economic problems, their significance, and political implications within the region are analyzed. Practice in writing analytical reports on various geographic patterns within the region is stressed. ( LA, S2) Prerequisite: SoS or GEOG 100.
