3 s.h. A close reading of Cervantes' comic masterpiece, Don Quijote, in the context of Renaissance Literature, the development of the European novel, and the society of Spain's Golden Age. Other short texts by Cervantes may also be read. Course will be conducted in Spanish and among other work, students will be required to write a 10-12pp research paper in Spanish.
