3 s.h. This course deals with the human and physical geography of China, Taiwan, Japan, and North and South Korea. Special attention is paid to environmental issues, problems of sustainable development, and cultural pluralism. Emphasis is also put on the historical development of cultural landscapes and ways in which these countries are assuming increasingly important roles in the global community. Practice in writing analytical reports on various geographic patterns within the region is stressed. ( LA, HO2, WS2) Prerequisites: SoS or GEOG 100.
