3 s.h. A study of the relationship of the government to business and the economy, and its role in attempting to achieve efficiency and equity in the face of conflicting objectives. Topics covered will include: anti?trust policy, the regulation of firm conduct in specific sectors of the economy including transportation, broadcasting and public utilities, government policies governing entry and exit, product quality, worker safety, pricing, and the environment.
