3 s.h. This course develops middle grade and secondary classroom procedures for teaching reading and study skills in English, mathematics, social studies, science, and other subject areas. Attention will be given to the identification of learner's needs, cognitive, social, and emotional development, educational and vocational implications of reading difficulties for diverse learners and English Language Learners, and the use of technology to assist the teaching and learning process. Includes a field component. Prerequisite: EDUC 246.
