3 s.h. A "grand" overview of contemporary economic theory and ideologydeveloped against a survey of the political, institutional, and historical forces that have shaped economic belief. Of particular concern will be the alternative political economic views of five great "masters"of political economy: Adam Smith, Alfred Marshall, Karl Marx, Thorstein Veblen, and John Maynard Keynes, and their contemporary advocates.
