3 s.h. Teaches students to draw the human figure with accuracy and to further interpret the human figure imaginatively. Attention will be drawn to the central role the representation of the human figure has played in historical and contemporary artistic traditions. Emphasis on observation and understanding of the figure as a broad design and a source for drawing. Includes exploration of varied materials and techniques. ( LA) Prerequisite: ARTS 141.
