3 s.h. A beginning course dealing with the essential principles and techniques of sculpture. Attention will be devoted to the historical and aesthetic contexts and the development of individual creative expression. Emphasis placed on good design and use of materials, selection and preparation of materials, and the techniques of carving, modeling, and constructing. Students are expected to work in at least two materials. ( LA) Prerequisite: 100-level ARTS course or permission of instructor.
