3-9 s.h. The ALS internship is designed to augment the ALS major or minor by providing students with the opportunity to work and learn in a setting that enables them to see the practical applications of their studies. The ALS internship, like those in other departments, involves a work experience with a not-for profit agency or a business that primarily serves an Africana or Latino population. This includes community and social service organizations, governmental research and advocacy agencies, educational programs for children or adults such as literacy programs, or businesses, especially in the arts. Prerequisites: JrS, passed the college writing exam, and have a minimum GPA of 2.0.
