Capstone experience that reviews such models of excellence as Head Start, High Scope, Montessori, British infant schools, and Reggio enrichment learning. Topics include administration and procedures, community relations, supervision, problem solving, and consultation. Students integrate prior knowledge and critically review scholarly research to develop a personalized educational approach, and examine the current state of research, promising innovative and futuristic practices, and emerging trends. Each student observes 15 hours within an approved state community child-care setting and investigates comprehensive child-care education.
