Introduction to various reimbursement methods and payment systems associated with the delivery of health care services. Emphasis is on the history of governmental involvement in financing health care, mainly through the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Also studies DRGs, RBRVS, CHAMPUS, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, managed care, APGs, RUGs, and other payment methods. Includes analysis of case studies and interpretation of clinical and financial data.
