A course surveying the various paradigms of thought which influence societies. Attention will be given to world history as a backdrop for comparisons of ancient world views, rationalism, the reformation, modernity (the Enlightenment, democracy, the development and dissolution of socialism), and post-modernity, as well as non-western world views, as a basis for the examination of Christian conservatism and evangelicalism, and possible responses to the 21 st century.
