Description:
This course sequence in Italian develops students' basic abilities to understand, speak, read, and write the language. The first semester stresses accurate pronunciation, introduces students to elementary grammar, and encourages easy conversational patterns pertaining to everyday living. The learning process is enhanced by integration of the language lab and the Internet. Students are strongly encouraged to take the second semester, which includes reading of short passages dealing both with everyday situations and cultural materials with emphasis on intonation and pronunciation. Prerequisite: ITA101 is a prerequisite for 102.
