The goal for each student is to find a research question to guide his or her overall research design. The course walks students through the steps involved in survey research: finding funding, writing a grant proposal, sampling, questionnaire design, coding, cleaning, and data analysis. This is a useful introduction for students who are interested in survey research because it provides the big picture of what should be considered when designing survey research and how to approach the different tasks involved in a survey project.
