4 credits Study of the properties and reactions of aliphatic and aromatic compounds, stereochemistry, structural theory, spectroscopy, proteins, carbohydrates, drugs, and biomolecules. Laboratory work includes the preparation and typical reactions of the main classes of organic compounds and qualitative organic analysis. Required of all chemistry majors and biology majors. Three (3) lecture hours and six laboratory hours per week.
