Topics include: isostasy, origin of magma, plate tectonics, aerial photographs, map projections, geologic maps, water balance, and observational astronomy. Environmental hazards will be studied: volcanic, flood, dryland, coastal, earthquake, and groundwater risks. This course fulfills the requirement for middle-school education majors who have a concentration in science. Prerequisite: PHY 104.
