Topics include Vladimir Lenin and the Bolshevik party, the Russian Revolution of 1917, collectivization, industrialization, and mass terror under Iosef Stalin; World War II and the Cold War; Krushchev, Brezhnev and the failure of the USSR to reform; Mikhail Gorbachev and perestroika, and the collapse of the USSR in 1991.
