This is a methods course in which students learn principles and practices for the delivery of health promotion and health education services to individuals, families and communities. Surveillance, service delivery, and health infrastructure issues in the United States are examined, as well as similar problems in developing countries. This course provides students with the opportunity to learn and demonstrate the following competencies: assess individual and community needs for health education; plan and implement health education strategies, interventions and programs; conduct evaluation and research related to health education; and serve as a health education resource person. Prerequisite(s): HEA 123.and HEA 218, or permission of instructor. Every year. Credit: 4
