This course is intended to help students gain a deeper understanding of one of the most pivotal periods in United States history. It is divided into two main parts. The purpose of the first part is to examine how industrialization, urbanization, immigration, technological advance and other forces of the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century affected the United States.
