Analytical examination of works from all periods to show the relevance of analysis in interpretive decisions in performance. Performance, discussion by class members, guest performers/ lecturers and study of multiple recordings. Works to be analyzed in part determined by class. Three hours weekly. Usually offered in alternate years. Prerequisite: TH 211 or permission of instructor.
