For music education instrumental emphasis majors only. The course integrates directly the topics presented with laboratory experience using those specific teaching techniques. This integration of the theoretical with the practical enables students to become more realistically involved in the teaching/learning process. Students teach other students of the class, all of whom play instruments learned in the instrumental methods class, as opposed to playing their major instrument. Such an atmosphere of beginners approximates a public school situation. Four hours weekly. Prerequisites: MEA 102, 200, 201, and successful completion of sophomore evaluation. Spring semester only.
