The sixth course in musicianship skills using Kodály materials. Harmonic and structural analysis of modal and functional harmonies using both traditional solfège and relative solmization. Vocal works of Palestrina, Bach, Bartók, Stravinsky, and representative pieces of Haydn, Mozart, and Brahms. Melodic, harmonic, and polyphonic dictation in all styles. Three hours weekly. Prerequisite: TH 320 or placement exam.
