This is a yearlong course that examines beginning acting techniques through the exploration of Meisner- and Stanislavski-based exercises and readings. There is an emphasis on movement training, which encompasses some techniques of Balinese dance, and an introduction to Anne Bogart's Viewpoints. The lessons are then applied to contemporary American scene work. Two hours weekly.
