This course meet five times during the semester and is meant to guide pre-physical therapy students during their bachelor's in health science course work. The focus of this course is related to professional practice issues in physical therapy (e.g., patient diversity issues). This course also includes discussions of "hot topics"in physical therapy, such as direct-access legislation, specialization, and advanced training opportunities. Students plan a service-learning project specifically in a health care environment. Academic requirements to enter the DPT phase also are reviewed. Participation in the Physical Therapy Student Association is expected. Prerequisite: BS/HS/DPT major.
