Digital communications fundamentals, including a variety of modulations schemes and encoding formats, such as pulse code modulation (PCM), frequency shift keying (FSK), and phase shift keying (PSK). The course covers a number of PCM line codes, including RZ, NRZ, and Manchester. Three lecture hours. Prerequisites: ECT 351 and MTH 241.
