This course covers advance digital logic concepts, including Programmable Logic Devices: CPLDs and FPGAs with VHDL design; logic families and their characteristics; practical considerations for digital designs; state machines, multivibrators, and timers; interfacing to the analog world; semiconductor, magnetic, and optical memory; and microprocessor fundamentals. Three lecture hours, three lab hours. Prerequisite: ECT 122. Laboratory fee.
