Focuses on the design of a stand-alone, embedded computer system. Introduces advanced concepts in computer architecture; timing, memory devices, peripheral devices, interrupts and polling, embedded system software, and design issues (Design for Manufacture [DFM] and Design for Test [DFT]). Students design, implement, and program a complete embedded computer system having real-time requirements. Requires project reports and demonstrations. Prerequisite: ECE 332.
