Surveying: theory and practice of plane surveying, adjustment and use of equipment, linear measurement, leveling, traversing, topographic mapping. Geographic information systems: interpretation of aerial photographs, fundamentals of remote sensing, introduction to geographic information systems, and the global positioning system. The geographic information systems portion may be taken separately for 2 credits. Prerequisite: General knowledge of geometry and trigonometry. Laboratory fee.
