A special seminar for selected engineering first-year students who have demonstrated a superior record of achievement during their secondary school preparation. Students meet weekly with faculty and staff of the school during the fall and spring semesters for informal discussions of contemporary technology innovations, issues, and perspectives, based on various assigned readings. Field trips to research, manufacturing, or other engineeringrelated installations may be included. Active student participation in discussions is expected. Written and oral presentations of studentselected topics are required. Prerequisite: Selection to Engineering Freshman Honors Group.
