Design of computer programs from problem analysis and numerical methods in engineering and science using digital computer facilities and languages. Topics include structured programming algorithmic processes, interpolation, Monte Carlo, interactive methods, graphical displays, matrix operations, and differential equations. These techniques are applied to problems selected from students' fields of interest. The computer language to be used will be published in the Schedule of Classes. Prerequisites: M 242 and at least one 2-credit course with a compiled computer language.
