This course introduces the concepts used in determining the appropriate use of building sites, including site surveys, topography, drainage, site utilities, zoning, wetlands, land-use issues and massing of buildings, roads, parking, and open spaces. Includes introduction to soil analysis, plantings, and landscaping. Students are required to conduct field investigation and site visits as part of their laboratory work. Three lecture hours, three lab hours. Prerequisites: AET 241, AET 242, and AET 244; or permission of instructor or chair. Laboratory fee.
