The mechanical, electrical, magnetic, thermal, and chemical properties of all types of materials: metals, ceramics, polymers, glasses, and composites. Why and how the properties of these materials can be altered by adjusting the internal structure. Prerequisites: PHY 112-113, M 144, 145, and CH 110.
