This course introduces the student of sculpture to the possibilities of public art as a venue for sales, commissions, and exhibition of work. The course develops student concepts for public art projects and investigate the process required to research, conceptualize, design, and present (in proposal form) ideas to various constituencies involved in such public art projects. Problems of budgeting, logistics, and dealing with varied audiences are addressed. Prerequisites: SCL 220 and SCL 221.
