Introduction to physical measurements in chemistry. Experiments are carried out in thermodynamics, thermochemistry, chemical kinetics, and spectroscopy. Emphasis is placed on the statistical treatment of experimental data and computer programming. Two threehour laboratories in addition to lecture. Prerequisites: CH 347, CS 111 or CS 114, and CH 226. CH 231 is recommended. Laboratory fee. (Writing-intensive course)
