This course is a close reading of Boccaccio's Decameron. We also briefly survey other novella collections and modern critical approaches to the study of the genre. We read the Decameron, some selections from the anonymous Novellino, and Franco Sacchetti' s Trecentonovelle . Classes conducted in Italian.
